Warranty Issues
We understand that your computer may still be under warranty and we do our
best to find this out. Furthermore, we understand your need to have a guarantee
that our work is performed correctly.
As with every project we undertake, OCC does its homework first. This includes
bringing out Factory Service Manuals as needed and researching warranty issues.
If the customer's computer or device is under warranty, this will be indicated
to the customer before work commences.
The customer does not need to be concerned that our repair will 'void the
warranty'. This has never happened. We consult with our customers about the
various complex warranty issues such as what happens when a hard drive needs
to be replaced in a new computer.
In general, Orange Crystal Consulting ("OCC") guarantees its work.
Here are some of the promises we provide:
- If a software or hardware repair fails due to our oversight, we promise
to correct the problem.
- Although reasonable care is made to ensure safe handling of your electronic
components, if we physically break a part or an entire device, we promise
to replace it at no charge. If the part or component or computer is not
available we promise to replace the part with one of parallel functionality/value.
Software and data is EXCLUDED from this promise as it is assumed the customer
has adequate backup.
- We will make a reasonable effort to research your particular problem before
attempting to solve it. Such research may require that the computer be brought
into our lab environment for further testing.
- If your computer develops a problem due to a known Microsoft or Apple
problem, OCC will straighten out the problem in accordance with Microsoft
or Apple recommendations. This is a billable event.
- At the customer's request, and at no charge, OCwill undertake a reasonable
amount of testing on your components, computer or network to rule out that
our work was the cause of your current problem. If our work was found to
be at the root of your problem, it will be corrected at no charge. If, however,
this reasonable amount of testing uncovers that OCC is not responsible for
the root of your problem, then the testing to uncover the real problem is
billable time.
